Get Your School/Community Group Involved for
Green Up Day, always the first Saturday in May!

  • The Green Up Day bags are distributed to all of the towns throughout the state, not to the Green Up office. Contact your local town coordinator, and they may be able to provide you with some bags, then supplement, if necessary, with store-bought trash bags. You can find your coordinator by clicking on the "How to Participate" page on the website, and then select your county.

  • You don't have to have your participants Green Up on Green Up Day. Many schools and community groups go out the Friday before, or some time during the week before Green Up Day, during business hours.

  • You can clean up around the outside of your school or community group building…the parking lot and the green spaces too. If you have a larger number of participants who want to go out, you can get a road assignment from your coordinator or select a road that you want to clean up.

  • Encourage good footwear and gloves. Discourage your participants from picking up hazardous materials.

  • Plant flowers, shrubbery or trees around your school/community group building.

  • Tell us your story! Once your school or community group have Greened Up, please submit an online report using the form below.
