Green Up Vermont received the Vermont Governor's Award for
Environmental Excellence and Pollution Prevention for 2008
Green Up Vermont received the Vermont Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence and Pollution Prevention for 2008 in the category of Environmental Excellence in Environmental Stewardship & Resource Protection. This award honors projects with measurable and direct benefits to air, land or water—or fish, wildlife and human communities dependent upon a clean and healthy environment.
The Vermont Governor's Awards for Environmental Excellence and Pollution Prevention were conceived of and established in 1993 to honor Vermont individuals, organizations, institutions, public agencies, businesses, and industry using innovative approaches that reduce or eliminate the generation of pollutants and wastes at the source. To date, more than 100 award-winning efforts representing environmental excellence and pollution prevention have been recognized.
